Tundra Man Custom Guitars

Welcome to Tundra Man Custom Guitars!

Carved-Top Sapphire Baritone In Walnut And Cherry

You were created as an individual. When you play guitar, it is an expression of who you are; your innermost self. The guitar you play should be equally unique. You don't create "off the rack" music, so why play an "off the rack" instrument?

When you open a guitar catalog or browse through a music store, your choices are limited. Each guitar manufacturer makes a few select models, often times color being your only option. What if you like certain characteristics of one guitar, but the body shape of another? What if you want something completely different, the likes no one has seen before? Too frequently people settle for less because it's what's easily available to them, rather than getting the guitar they really want.

We here at Tundra Man Custom Guitars understand you. We know that assembly-line guitars can't offer the combination of options that you want in order to truly represent who you are as an individual and a player. We can help you design your "dream axe" that has the features you want (or don't want!) Your guitar choices are limited only by your imagination. Tundracaster In Metallic Green

Each guitar is painstakingly built by hand. We don't employ assembly-lines or CNC (computer numerically controlled) equipment to build our guitars. Instead, we rely on good old-fashioned craftsmanship. While computers can make a very good guitar, they are best at forming "cookie cutter" guitars where every instrument is exactly the same. This process can too easily steal the soul from the instrument. A machine can't read the grain of the wood and decide how it wants to be formed. When we build an instrument, we make sure not to cut away any of the mojo. What you get in return is an instrument with personality; one that you can say is truly yours and like none other.

The construction of every guitar we make (unless requested otherwise) is photo-logged from start to finish. You can watch your guitar form online from raw lumber to the finished instrument. Sure, some factories have "custom shops" where you can specify some additional options, but can you actually watch your guitar being made?

We do not cut corners by using cheap hardware. Trusted brand names like Schaller, Gotoh, Sperzel, Seymour Duncan, Lindy Fralin, Graphtech and many others help create an instrument with uncompromising quality. Each piece of wood is carefully selected and inspected by hand. Only time-tested construction techniques are used to help ensure that your instrument will be one that you will cherish for years.
